Gabby Young's twisting roots have carried her and that stunning voice from her native Wiltshire, through the heart of London's music scene, and now to a home in North Devon — where Gabby Young & Other Animals have just made their comeback with a bang.
One of the youngest recruits to the National Youth Choir at the age of 12, Gabby was on track to become an opera singer until Jeff Buckley and the jazz greats inspired her to switch teams. Her avant-garde fusion of globally-influenced folk — Balkan brass, jazz and swing — became what's affectionately known as Circus Swing.
Now, reborn with an electrifying new lineup — Stephen Ellis on guitars, keys and vocals, Mike Reed on drums, Dave Smale on double bass, and Anisa Arslanagic on violin — the band are back on the road, with new music in the works.

Our comeback show at Harta was unreal — an absolutely record-breaking crowd, and we felt every bit of that energy.
Huge thanks to Aaron & Miranda at Harta for believing in us, to the new lineup — Stephen, Mike, Dave & Anisa — who are now officially the new Other Animals, to The Rebel Chorus for singing (and looking after us all night), and to every single one of you who danced, sang and gave us the best atmosphere we could have asked for.
We're back, and we want to get out around the world to play for you all again. Watch this space.
